Sending a Macro Message

There are numerous ways to send a new macro message to a driver, depending on what area of CMS you are currently in:

• From the communications module, simply click on the "Driver Communications→Inbox" or "Driver Communications→Outbox", click the New Form icon, and then click the "Macro" option button.
• From the dispatch module, simply right-click on a tractor in the equipment status list, choose "Send Freeform Message", and then click the "Macro" option button.
• From the dispatch form, click "Messages" menu, and then choose which macro you want to send (this option is only available if the dispatch tractor is setup with a mobile communications ID).

If you send the message from the dispatch form, then any fields that have been configured to pull from dispatch fields will be filled-in automatically from properties of the dispatch.

To send the message, select the tractor that should receive the message, set the priority, type your message, and click "Send". The message will be queued in the "Driver Communications→Outbox" until the next Tailwind Agent cycle (every five minutes) and then it will be transmitted automatically.
