Overview
The following document describes the procedure for adding Cargo Claims/Accidents/Incidents.
A Cargo Claim is when a claimant, usually a consignee, files a report against either a carrier or company driver. These can be for reasons such as but not limited to loss, cargo damage, theft, etc.
An Accident Report is used for either a carrier or company driver when they've been involved in a motor vehicle accident.
An Incident Report is used for either a carrier or company driver when they've received a traffic infraction.
Procedure
Open the desired Personnel Record
- Navigate to the Personnel List, by clicking Personnel in the Vertical Menu
- Double-click the Personnel Record for which you would like to add a Cargo Claim/Accident/Incident on.
- Note: You will only be able to add a Cargo Claim/Accident/Incident for Personnel listed as "Drivers"
Access the Incidents & Claims tab
- Once you've opened the desired personnel record, navigate to the Incidents & Claims tab by clicking on the corresponding Tab at the top of the personnel record
- Note: If the tab doesn't appear on the personnel record, make sure that the user is listed as a driver or check your security settings to ensure you have the ability to access the Incidents & Claims tab
Adding a Cargo Claim
- To add a Cargo Claim, click on the "Add Cargo Claim" button to pull up a new Cargo Claim record
- Required Fields for the Cargo Claim are Incident Date, Date Opened and Claim Type
- Tip: If none of the claim types suit your needs, you can select "Other" and create a note with one that is more suitable by clicking on the "Add Note" button at the bottom of the cargo claim
Adding an Incident Report
- To add an Incident Report, click on the "Add Incident Report" button to pull up a new Incident Report record
- Note: The "File #" on the incident and accident report is automatically generated by Tailwind
Adding an Accident Report
- To add an Accident Report, click on the "Add Accident Report" to pull up a new Accident Report Record
Save the Record
- Save the new record by clicking the Save button in the bottom right corner
